Searching for Siegenthaler, National Public….TV?, and Fun with WordPress

Comfort WomenWord has it that “Jimbo” Wales, the guru behind Wikipedia, has his sights set on the Don’t Be Evil boys via his for-profit Wikia, Inc. Wales, doing his best comfort woman impersonation, is advocating a collaborative, open-source search engine. Great, if I want to search for someone allegedly involved in the Kennedy assassinations. Both of them.

PeppersI’ve eaten nearly an entire jar of pepperoncini, not unlike this one, since Saturday. I probably would have finished them off, except for the difficulty in fishing the last few out. I may require an intervention.

Movie review, Black Snake Moan. Too weird for words. I’d need David Fincher to design a video collage to adequately describe this movie.

Anyone else a little perturbed by This American Life‘s lascivious embrace of television and subsequent relocation to New York? And doesn’t Ira Glass look vaguely like Paul Shaffer‘s hirsute, pornography-addicted cousin? What’s next? If Hank the Angry Drunken Dwarf gets resurrected on TAL, I’m outta here. While I’m on the subject of NPR, anyone else checked out Fair Game with Faith Salie? Rowr. It’s a lot of fun.
For my faithful readers, all 6 of you, you may have noticed that I flip-flop on the theme of this blog more often than a Republican implicated in AttorneyGate. I’m having technical difficulties with a couple of the WordPress themes I’ve uploaded on here. I may just have to make my own, but I have neither the time nor energy to do so right now.

And the latest recipient of my HotW award is NOT Al Gore. Sorry, I just can’t get excited about someone who cashed in on getting cheatedhis defeat in the 2004 Presidential Election, especially after this bit on NPR yesterday. My hero of the week is Alan Greenspan, who continues to be the Howard Beale of the American financial markets.

I guess I should do the dishes before I head off to sunny Jacksonville for the weekend to mock officiate over my buddy’s wedding. I performed the real wedding, shotgun style, in July of last year. I hope to have some good stories with which to regale my faithful readers, especially if my partner in crime shows up.

On a sad note, let’s mourn the passing of The Show with Ze Frank.  What a Zetastic year it’s been.
