Almost a reason to live in California

1

The future is here now, although it could tumble into the ocean at any moment. Honda’s new fuel cell vehicle, the FCX Clarity, appears almost ready for prime time. This NY Times auto review compares it very favorable to Honda’s new 4-cylinder Accord. While it’s a bit of an apples to orange comparison, the FCX’s hydrogen consumption rates the equivalent of 68 miles to the gallon. Sadly, this vehicle will only be available in select counties in California next year, given the availability of hydrogen refueling stations. Of course, Honda is working on a new Home Refueling Station that would allow anyone with a garage to have a fuel cell vehicle of their own.

From the “Will We Ever Learn?” file, CNN|Money is reporting that the top of the life, 425-hp Dodge Challenger is going for $20,000 over list…two months prior to its (re-)introduction.

CC was very taken with the FCX when she saw a quick ad for it on TV, though I’d like to see its styling in person. As for the Challenger, I think it looks like it’s not Scottish (crap!). Albeit crap with a boatload of horsepower.
